Over Under Clothing: The Story Behind The Brand

Over Under is a brand founded on the idea that quality, in both the products that they sell and the service provided to the customer, is the key to a successful business and should be the values of any true American business. The founder, Bryan Horn, is a pride example of hard work, dedication, and determination to succeed when the odds were never in his favor, as he struggled to find anyone that still supported the idea of domestically produced, quality American goods. It almost sounds silly to say that that concept has been so widely forgotten, but Over Under proved that it had not been completely lost, and there were still those who believed in supporting domestic products, and done the right way. All of their products are made for Southern Gentlemen looking for clothing that look and feel amazing, and also fit the sporting lifestyle many chose to take part in, as their designs are built for hunting and fishing, a southern staple. The logo represents not only the company, but the roots of American history, as the Labrador Retriever has been the hunting dog of choice for many years and by far one of the most reliable breeds in terms of efficiency and companionship, it's also based after the Bryan Horn's own hunting dog. Other companies that offer similar products, in terms of hunting shirts, flannels, and polo shirts, have chosen logos that have little to no meaning or backstory for the people purchasing them, and Over Under recognized this and wanted to be the one that changed that for the better.

Southern Casanova And How They Began

With an eye for style and quality in design, Erik Hussey set out with a goal of providing the highest quality products to everyone that he could, and he did it with nothing short of hard work, a value that is sewn into the fabric of the United States, thus Southern Casanova is yet another fine example of an all American made business whose goal isn't to make money, but to provide. After getting turned down by multiple banks when he asked for a loan, a smaller bank driven to support smaller businesses gave him much more than initially asked for, and from there Southern Casanova began to grow rapidly. They offer short sleeve and long sleeve t-shirts, polo shirts, button downs, outerwear and other accessories. Each of their products comes with their signature Labrador logo, inspired by Erik's dog Casanova, which is also who he got the name for the business from. Along with providing top of the line products to customers, Southern Casanova actively participates in organizations built to aid homeless dogs, and although Erik has little to no time outside of his business, he encourages his employees and those who purchase his products to participate in these organization as well. Southern Casanova is what American business is all about, hard work and helping others.

R. Hanauer, A True American Brand

Similar to both Over Under and Southern Casanova, R. Hanauer began with a single man hoping to make a difference and fill a gap in a market that needed it most, but the products offered are what make it a unique business platform. The company began in 1985, and its focus was on pocket squares to pair with Suit jackets, as the current models at the time were designed for blowing your nose, not for fashion purposes. With a single sewing machine that replicated hand sewn edges, R. Hanauer began producing its first line of products, which were received very well in retail stores. Soon after the business began, he managed to get a tailor shop in Rock Hill, South Carolina to produce his products in larger quantities, adding more designs, and as his confidence in the business grew, added bow ties and cummerbunds to the line, which sold just as well. Currently, the business has expanded exponentially and is located in Fort Mill, South Carolina, but even with the larger demand for their products they still manage to design and produce all of their products here in the United States, and it is only through good relationships with other businesses and hard work that they have been able to accomplish this.
